Emergency Medical Services

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
This course prepares students for a variety of careers in the health and medical fields with emphasis in emergency medical services to include: patient stabilization monitoring and care, drug administration, medical terminology, law and ethics, anatomy, physiology, toxicology, mastery of preliminary diagnosis of diseases and injuries, medical triage, rescue operations, crisis scene management, operation and maintenance.

CAREER FOCUS
Upon graduation, students will be prepared for entry level positions or may choose to continue their education at a post-secondary school.  The EMS program will prepare students for the following careers:

  • Advanced EMT (AEMT)
  • Paramedic
  • Life-Flight Paramedic
  • Life-Flight Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Pre-Hospital Registered Nurse (PH-RN)
  • Registered Nurse
  • Physical Assistant
  • Medical Doctor
